The first point to know when driving in France is that the traffic lights change from green to orange to red very quickly. Secondly, traffic patterns; there are two sets of rules. In the absence of signs to appear before the circle, the car rights the right of way. When driving in France, know that there is no right turn at a red light unless there is an orange arrow to the right, which is on or flashing. Avoid the path to the right like an arrow pointing right at a right angle, unless you plan on going to forthcoming intersection. As in many countries, do not be surprised if an oncoming car flashes its lights.
